View Full Version : flood victim
Drove through the pasture after another all night rain, and found this little guy.
Only weighted about 2lbs.
I guess he got flooded out of his den from the night before.
I tried to help him but he remembered he was a coyote and tried to bite me.
I hate coyotes but couldn't bring myself to kill him.
Anyway thought it was a god pic.

Hind legs looks like he's crossed with a jackrabbitt, Tom! :D
If he grows up, we'll be looking for one that hops like a kangaroo. :p
Did the ranch get hit with the heavy floods in that part of the country?

All my years of hunting, I've never seen a coyote pup as young as that one. We have had about 6" on the ranch in the passed two days and the ground was already saturated.
Its a welcome relief.
Hope the oil patch service trucks don't tear up the roads.

I may have to find a small tractor and box blade.
