Thought I'd share a pic of my 44's
They are a Rossi 95 (circa96) and a SBH (circa 97)
They make a good team with the 200gr laser casst and 9gr unique

Thank you they are a lot of fun I have shot a couple deer with my rossi, it kinda retired to tin can duty now
9 grains of unique is moderately hot load isn't it? Well out of SASS velocity limitations so it's a full power .44 mag load if I'm correct. 5.2 grains of Unique is my CAS load. Nice pic BTW.

Yes it is These are for beer can busting, this load is equal to a 44/40 load and works real well in both the revolver and the rifle. I do not do any CAS, woud like to but just do not have the time, so it plinking for us.

Nice pics of your guns. I'll bet you have lots of fun busting beer cans with them.
Unique is a good powder for the .44 for mild to moderate 44 magnum loads. I also like Trail Boss for it's bulk. 6 grains and a 200 grain bullet are plenty good out to 100 yards.

I went into out local sporting good stoe 97 while I was home on Leave, looked around saw thi rifle for like $280. Picked it up it has such a natural point of aim, that i tlaned in my gun safe. Then that year for Christmas I got me the Ruger. They are both tuns of fun to shoot. My wife lves to shoot the rosse, now it I could get her to reload them for me too:D

Taurus bought Rossi a couple of years ago and now they carry the same forever warrentee that Taurus has on all their guns.
I've never had a Ruger 44 mag single action. My hunting partner has a 4 5/8th inch bbl 45 Blackhawk with the 45 ACP extra cylinder. I had a 7 1/2 half inch bbl 41 mag blackhawk for a while. It was a really nice gun. Most of my shooting and hunting has been with the double action 44 mags and I've had both Smiths and Ruger Redhawk/super Redhawks. I've one Rossi revolver now, a little stainless 22 lr. and it probably gets shot more than any gun I own.
I do like the 44 mag cartridge. It can be loaded from mild to wild and makes a dandy hunting round both in the rifle and the sidearm. It sounds like your having a blast with yours Black tail.
