I got a favor to ask.
Can someone with a data sheet or a Mic around measure the gap between the cylinders in a 480 Ruger? I'm trying to get a reading on what their thickness is at their thinnest point.
Thanks in advance!

I don't have one of these guns, but for clarification, I think you mean you want the thickness of the web between chambers? They're all in the same cylinder. There is, however, also the barrel/cylinder gap. I just didn't want someone to give you that number by mistake, since it will only be about 0.005", give or take 0.001", as for all revolvers in good working order.
You also need to specify whether you want that number for the breech end of the chambers or the barrel end? The latter will be thicker, since it the chambers narrow down to help guide the bullet at the forward end.

If I'm understanding you, I believe you have a concern over Rugers use of 6 rounds and the lack of metal between rounds. I was too, thats why I got the Taurus which has 5 rounds and a lot more steel. That is if I'm understanding you correctly.

Correct, I'm looking for the wall thickness where it meets the other chamber, so the web between the cylinders, and at the thinnest point, so the breech end. I can't find one locally now that Ruger isn't making them and I need the number for a project.
Thanks
Mike
