View Full Version : Loading Taurus magazines

While quite familiar with revolvers, I"m not experienced with the semi-automatic pistols. So, to correct that oversight, I've purchased a Springfield XD .45 ACP and a Taurus PT 24/7 .40 S&W. The Springfield came with a handy device for loading the magazines, partically surpressing the top cartridge, making getting the next one started a lot easier. However, the Taurus does not furnish the same device for the .40 pistol. At the risk of admitting to being a wimp, it sure would convenient if a similar device was available....does anyone know if one exists and where it might be available for purchase?

DOK, good to see you back. Hope things are going well for you.

Niner hasn't been able to keep up with Bad Joke Friday and we're sure hoping you can pop in once in a while and supply us with a fix :D

On the topic at hand.... I have seen several of these devices that were more or less universal. I'd guess that if it fits over the magazine body, it should work OK.

I would just take a couple of magazines down to the closest gun store, and see what they have in stock.

Hi DOK!
Good to see you around again.
HKS may make something that would do the trick. Here is the link. http://www.hksspeedloaders.com/MagloaderPage.html

Hey Mike, I'm trying to help Niner. You just don't appreciate my sense of humor. ;)

Thanks gentlemen and I'll follow-up with the suggestions. Slightly different subject...prostate cancer is apparently on the way out as the PSA dropped from 6.7 to 1.1 in the last six months. And my Mom has passed away recently so those daily visits and feedings are done so I'll have more time to get back to some shooting. Shot today and kinda surprised myself so it's down to the basement to clean and relod tonight!

Thanks again.

Good to hear about your numbers DOK. Sorry about your mom.

We've missed ya.

At least I haven't resorted to this joke;

What kind of trees are full of food?

Pantrys.

son-of-a-gun, now I'll have to find a new one for this Friday!

By the way, found a version of the device you referenced and it works a lot better than the manual approach. My thumb and I thank you.

Welcome back DOK, now we will have some decent jokes again. Michal tries, and I've fell on my face a couple of times trying as well.

Got a good prostrate scare last month. but after a week in the hospital they decided that it was a kidney infection. with a swollen prostrate.

Sorry to hear about your mother. Just think about it this way, the next time you see her she will be in perfect health, and welcome you with open arms.
