Last night I contimplated purchasing a 7.62x51 Ishy 2A from Aim. I could not resist, so a Special select is on the way. I needed something to shoot all of the 7.62 ammo I'm sitting on. I also ordered a Excellent grade 24/47 from Samco. Here we go again. If I don't have it I gotta get one. The 'itis is still going strong. Both companies now charge me a flat $10.00 shipping. I love this hobby. ;) Jim

You can NEVER have too many firearms. (Unless, the Little Woman catches on!) :D

kdub, I almost bought the 1899 Obie 6.5 that Allans armory had, but at 1100.00+ I desided otherwise. I felt a 7.62 and another 8x57 at 1/4 the price for both was the way to go. Jim

Mods please update 2A thread!! Aim is selling up to 3 battle paks (140 round ea.) of SA ammo @ $39.95 ea. w/ the purchase of a Enfield 2A rifle ($160.00). Less than $300.00 bucks will get you a nice rifle, and ammo to last a while. Steve at Aim has assured me the rifles are very nice. He told me to hang on to my socks when I see the $190.00 Special select I purchased. I don't need the ammo, but as a package it is a good deal! Jim

Nate, What do you think? BTW, I love Denver and the variety of hunting within an hour. I lived there for 4 years in the '80's. I use to shoot p-dogs with a scoped pellet rifle NE of Stapleton airport close to where one of the runways crossed I-70, they were so thick a .22 would have been unfair. My Shepherd would get her share too! I think it was off Chambers.

I figured an update on the rifle I received was in order. 1st off Ishipore rifles have a baked enamel finish, no blueing. The finish is pretty worn around the top of the receiver and bottom of the mag, but all in all, not bad. The wood on the other hand is different. There were 3 repairs in front of the mag well. Two
1/4x3/4" wood repairs and a surface gouge filled w/ epoxy filler. All are old. There are also two perfectly centered round plugs on the rear upper hand guard behind the rear sight. There are also 3 indentations in the wood that looks like a scout scope mount was present at one time, I have not removed the stock to check further. Unit, platoon markings, and Rifle #(13) are intact. The wood is light on the bottom has a medium shade in the middle and is dark on top, fore stock(handgaurds are dark) and butt stock is the same w/ 3 distinctive shades, very prominate! Sorry to say my crappie camera died, so no pics for now. The bore is very sharp and clean. This is very different from other Mk3's I've seen. But, most of those are WW1 vintage. Aim charged me $169.00 and I'm happy. I'll take her out this weekend and see how she does. BTW, she is all matching.

I'll post how she shoots next week, off hand of course. Jim
