I just bought a browning .325 wsm and i have not shot it yet. Anyone that has shot one would you recommend muzzlebreak or isnt the recoil bad enough? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. What else have you shot and how comfortable with it were you?

That will help answer the question.

If in doubt, try a few rounds standing or sitting, before getting down at the bench.

Like mike said there's lots of variables. How the gun actually fits you is a big factor and without shooting it you won't know.

Modern muzzle brakes can reduce recoil up to 60 percent and my friends 300 ultra-mag and 7mm STW are just plain fun to shoot now that he has brakes on them.

I shoot an 8mm Rem mag with 220 grain Sierra Game Kings at 3080 fps across my chrono. Recoil is tolerable and I'm able to shoot good groups, but I don't seem to be recoil sensitive as much as some. I have to admit that after shooting my friends Ultra-mag I'm considering putting a brake on it.

As Mike said start standing before getting down on the bench. When your shooting at game you'll probably never notice the recoil. You can mitigate some of the recoil when sighting in by using one of the Lead sleds that are on the market. Add a bag or two of lead shot and the gun is much easier to sight in.

I love nuzzle brajes and there is not a gun I own that does not have or scheduled to get one. Down to the 6-250 varmint rig.

I'm quite late chiming in here. But I have a Savage .325 WSM, and it is a real joy to shoot. Even shooting it from the bench hasn't been a problem. I've never quite figured out, why it doesn't recoil much, but I like it.
