I realize some experimentation on my part will be necessary, but what would be a suggested "starting point" for the torque settings of the action screws on a late model Winchester M70 Featherweight? This rifle is not bedded as of yet.

Nobody answered with specifics..... but I'll suggest about as tight as you can get for the front screw, and about half that for the back.

Middle screw just barely bottoms out. Use Loc-Tite on all three.

Maybe the CF rifles aren't as picky about this as some of my rimfires. And of course this one won't see as much use as a rimfire either.
