Hello all.
I'm new to this forum, this is my first post.
I have some questions around the TC encore frame.
There are so many different opinions and answers on the internet that I feel the more I read the more confused I get.
Hope I can get a answer here.

I'm planning to buy a TC encore, does the encore frame have the same rimfire/centerfire option as the G2 has with it's "hammer switch" ?
I'd like a encore with both 22LR and 375 JDJ, is this possible?
If encore does not have a switch, is the encore rimfire frame a different frame from encore centerfire frame?
I'm very confused..

I also heard something about pistol barrels not fitting on a encore rifle frame? I thought the pistol frame and rifle frame were the same?
That a encore pistol can become a rifle by mounting a 28" barrel, a buttstock and rifle forearm?

Hope someone can help me clear this things.

All answers are highly appreciated
Thanks
Kind Regards
Paul

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Rules are to be civil and not post anything you'd be embarrassed to explain to a small child.

I haven't looked at a rimfire Encore barrel up close. The illustration on the TC web site claims no frame alteration is required, and the photo they have makes it appear they lowered the bore axis to get the firing pin to strike the case rim at 12:00. I would call TC and ask about it? It is always good to double-check a compatibility issue with the gun maker. I don't recall their customer support number, but have their custom shop number here: 800-350-5915. They should be able to tell you.

The law defines the differences between rifles and handguns in part based on barrel length, so frames sold as rifles have to be incompatible with shorter barrels sold for handguns. The idea is that you not be able to make the equivalent of an illegal sawed-off rifle by changing a rifle barrel for a pistol barrel or by giving a pistol a rifle stock. I'm not clear exactly what miscreance this is supposed to prevent, since handguns and rifles can be purchased in the same chamberings? It certainly doesn't affect concealablility of a given cartridge power level for this reason.
