I was looking at a Remington 700 SPS my friend is selling but I was wondering if my Timmeny trigger for a old 700 would fit?

Welcome to the forum 1911. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.
How about trying to adjust the trigger that's already on it? I've got a bunch of Remingtons in the safe and each one has the original factory trigger that's been adjusted.
Once in a while you'll run across a Remington trigger that's a stinker and simply won't respond to adjustment. Over the 27 years I ran a gunsmith business I've done that a few times, but mostly I've good luck with the stock Remington trigger. I'd sure give it a try before going aftermarket.
About the only way you will know if your old Timney trigger will fit is put it in and see.

I am going to do that.
I was just wondering if my 2 ounce set up would fit.

I haven't done anything with the new Remington Triggers, but I'm kinda thinking that they were probably made to fit the action the same way the old trigger was.
I can't imagine Remington re-engineering the actions when all they had to do was make a new trigger group. My gut feeling is that your Timney will fit and work. Give it a try.
I've also had good luck with the 700 triggers. On older dirty rifles I give the trigger a good cleaning with Gunscrubber first. This seems to help.
