Picked up a new ruger mk 11 22-250 with a 23" barrel, set on a burris bl.dia. 4x16. Chose it over a remington 'cause of a lack of the other $150. Is the short barrel ok or have I just stepped in it? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum ga nopro. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

There's not much velocity loss between a 23 and a 24 inch barrel. I don't think anything you shoot with it will notice the difference.

Let us know how the new Ruger trigger is.

is it a 77 mark II or a 77 Hawkeye. Just as a side a ruger Mark II is a 22 Pistol, a Model 77, Mark II is the rifle that has the saftey on the bolt shroud as opposed to the tang (among other things). The Hawkeye is the newest version of the Model 77
