Sorry about the stupid question fellas, but which ammo is cheaper? The .270 winchester or .308 winchester?

.308 due to the fact that you can buy military surplus.

I can't speak for Australia, but here in the states 308 ammo is marginally less expensive than 270 ammo. Lots more folks shooting the 308 than the 270, though both along with the 30-06 probably make up 90 percent of all ammo sales here.

You can get 308 ammo just about anywhere in oz,and i would prefer the 308 over the 270 for pigs anyway man.Some of the big grunters would prefer the 308 for a clean kill anyway buddy
