Welcome to the forum Ambassador. Rules are simple, be nice and join in. I'm going to move this out of the humor section as it sounds like your looking for information instead of posting where we post jokes and such.

I like to buy where I can pick up a gun and look at it.

If I were you I would buy from a local reputable dealer. Sounds like you've plenty to learn, and someone that will stand behind the products they sell is a good way to go when starting out with anything new to you.

Unless you know exactly what you want, I would go w/ a local dealer. If you know the exact rifle and caliber than you can save some $ on the net. But, again a reputable dealer is the key. Jim

Welcome Ambassador,

Like others, I would prefer to buy locally; especially if it is a used gun, but even with a new gun, if it needs sent back to the factory, the local guy would usually be willing to send it back for you. If you would let us know what you are wanting to use the gun on, these guys will steer you in the right direction!

I've bought 7 guns off of gun broker.com, and each purchase was a good experience. No problems whatsoever, just get you a good depenable FFL guy near you, and you'll save on sales tax also.
