They are pretty good guns. I've never owned one in 45 lc, but I presently have a 44 mag and a .357 in the safe. the .357 in an octagon barrel is my favorite gun. Fun to shoot, and danged good looking, I really like them. I've owned a Marlin .44 and prefer the Puma.

I put a Trijicon night sight on the 44 mag for pig hunting at night. (this was an expensive, and laborious effort, but it works).

I think you'll enjoy it. The rest of us sure have.

The guns are made by the old Rossi folks, and imported under the LSI/Puma/Navy Arms names.

Service, as I understand it, is pretty good too.

Enjoy,

shane

LSI sounds right . Would that be Brazilian made ?

Think it is used , but could not find anything to indicate that it had ever been fired or carried .

If it is an older production LSI , does that make it worth more or less than , say a current production Rossi ?

Best I remember he was asking either $ 369.95 or $ 389.95 .

Thanks ,

I have one in 454 Casual but shoot 45 Colt in it mostly. Not because of recoil but because I just like the 45 Colt better and I can load the 45 close to 454 velocities with heavy bullets. I also have several 45 Colt Rugers in SA and DA that I can use the same loads for.

The rifle is fun to shoot, light weight, powerful and pretty accurate with the iron sights. They are well built and worth the money.

I concur with Bill's opinion. I own one in 357 with an octagon full length barrel and I enjoy it very much. I also bought one for my son in 454 Casull and we shoot only 45 LC in it since he hates heavy recoil. Both guns function smoothly and are sturdy. I would buy another if I felt I needed it.

Best regards,

I have owned a LSI/PUMA now for almost 3 years . It is the 16",SS,.454Casull model.

I absolutely love this little 5lb. powerhouse. The fiberoptic sights can been seen by my old(er) eyes and the loading system is a thing to behold.

For me,no ammo goes through the loading gate. Open action, drop rd in the top, close action, unscrew mag tube cap,put in rds, replace cap, your ready to go. Unloading, all ammo in mag slides out thru the end of the mag and the chambered rd is ejected into my hand.

My weapon has handled the most powerful handloads that I can dream up. Even the 360gr. WLNGC.And the 265's at velocities that ya'll probably wouldn't believe.

I have nicknamed my weapon...."THUMPER". ---pruhdlr

Well , I broke down and bought it . $ 410 out the door ( including tax ) .

Only shot it once , shooting 230 grain RNL & 250 grain LFP that I had loaded for my S&W M25-5 . Both seem to shoot to about the same POI with 8 grains of Unique .

So far , I like it . Less recoil than my Marlin .44 Mag .

But I may need to increase the powder a little . I am getting quite a bit of smoke on the exterior of the empty brass .

I have owned a .45 Puma Rifle for about four months (bought it NEW). I mainly use it for cowboy shoots.

I have also had the same problem with way to much powder residue on the fired cases AND have not cured that yet. I also did have a problem with the roughness of the action. Had to spend HOURS slicking it up.

The accuracy of the rifle mainly depends on the ammo you are shooting. I had to try about five different combo's befor I found one that worked like I wanted and it was to powerful for my pistol. Setteled on 5.5 gr of Trail Boss and 250 gr speer.

ALSO the rifle did not shoot at the point of aim. Had to adjust the rear sight.

I wish I had either bought a Winchester or a USED Puma.

I have not noticed it being out of the ordinary rough . Are you talking about the action or trigger pull ?

I have only shot it once , with Unique ( which has a reputation of being a dirty powder , but I use Unique in a lot of calibers and it does not bother me ) .

I also had to drift the rear sight , but thought nothing of it .

So far I am happy with the rifle . Next time to the range will be with 10 grains of Unique .

Since Winchester went under , I have not seen one in .45 LC .
