I hope the after pic doesn't loose fidelity because the stock came out real nice.

Boy flash that came out beautiful, what a difference. I been buggin you since you got that FS to see what it would turn out like when you got it refinished and you did a dandy job. Looks like your ready for the fall big game season.

I have to admit you were an inspiration (that's a nice way of saying nag) but I'm glad you did.
Thanks for the good words, it did come out nice.

I was wondering if someone would give me grief about the tree. It's about 15 feet outside the front door and was just begging to be a rifle rack.

Flash, that is a beautiful rifle. What caliber and how does it shoot?

It is a 243 Winchester and fortunately, it shoots better than it looks....... :)
I have an 85 grain hollow point load using H4831 SC that is scary accurate and a 100 grain spire point load using Retumbo that is even better.
I'll be hauling it around in the woods this year during deer season. It's very well balanced and the 20" barrel makes it real handy. I've been practicing all summer with it and am to the point that on the bench with open sights I can easily hit a 6" paper plate at 100 yards. I don't do as good off-hand as on the bench but plenty good enough to take a deer. If I use any kind of rest, tree branch, fence post, log on the ground, anything, my confidence range is about 160 yards.

The stock is shaped like the CZ medium magnum and I thought it looked a little goofy on the website, but after seeing it in the FS model I think it looks pretty good. I may have to re-think the medium magnum again. I want a CZ in 300 Winchester and they don't make the 550 American in 300 Win for some strange reason. I really like your FS model.

RifleFan - I like the hog-back stock shape better than the straight back (American style). This is more like my shot gun stocks and it comes up nicely. When shouldered, I look right down the line of the barrel without scrunching my neck down into my torso like a turtle. If you handle one you will see what I mean. I like this particular gun better without a scope, the scope threw off the balance. Someone on this forum mentioned CZ is offering a different style iron sight but I couldn't find it on their website. I will eventually put some sort of peep sight on the rear, I'd like to find a Fire Sight that fits but they don't have one.

That's really nice...I even like the sling, what kind is that?

It's a Hunter brand sling. A simple 1 inch wide strip of good quality leather with their cartouche stamped into it.
