Howdy folks,
Just dropping a line to say hi. Just signed up after finding some good info from ya' guys by way of Google. Usually spend most of my time on a California dedicated gun board but am always willing to give new (at least new to me!) forums a try. As for me....Garand enthusiast & hunter/shooter whenever I can.
Thanks folks.......

Welcome to the forums.
Lot's of people here who know volumes more than I do and some are even funny!
You know, have an acceptably strange sense of humor. :D
I'll have that cheeseburger with everything on it a side of fries and a Coke.
Reading makes me hungry.

Thank ya' folks & yes sir on the rules; I verrrrrry unfortunatly learned my lesson the hard way over at Frugal a long time ago. I now DO listen to the mods:D
Anyway hope to do some reading and posting...especially in the hunting section(s) as I aint' getting 'nuff of the stuff on my regular board....and deer season is nearly upon me; need to get siked up before heading to the woods.

I am guessing that you have some fine foothills & hunting areas in northern Cali, no?
Have friends north of L.A., but it's all L.A. within 50 miles in any direction of downtown.
Beautiful country, North Cali, from what I have seen in pictures, but being over here on the East side yo, anything and anywhere is more beautiful than NJ...except perhaps Detroit......
How are the vinyards?
Full of deer and small game?

YES! It can be quite beautiful up& out here in Norcal. I tend to travel between the Red Bluff area and Northern Bay Area of Napa/Sonoma. All awsome when they're green....ok when they've turned brown. A ton of public lands (NFS & BLM) up north but definitely mostly private and/or unhuntable the closer ya' get to Sonoma unless ya' know people with enough acrage.
I spent nearly 8 years living east...mostly Deleware & did have the pleasure to see some of the nicer spots in NJ....far away from the werehouses & whatnots. My personall favorite(s) spots were actually in PA though as I used to do quite a bit of camping through scouts & a very camping-active family.
I oft times get asked which place(s) I prefer- East or west. Its really difficult to say...I Love the true seasons ya' get back east that just are not part of California climate unless you're in the extreme BFE northern parts of Cali. I do love the seemingly much-more wide open spaces out here but miss the much closer to year round greenery you get back east.
I do miss the seemigly much more closely knit groups/families that I knew and grew up with back east....but dont miss (sorry if I offend) the sometimes stand-off-ishness and difficulty trying to get into one of those close knit groups. I love Norcal as it's open-minded enough to still love guns/hunting but not psycho enough as the fodder that seems to stream from San Francisco everyday from immigration rallies to PETA crap and Sierra Club dwaddlings.
I will definitely say though I miss the Brandywine River and the Chesapeak Bay as I remember hours upon hours fishing and exploring them-- though I haven't fished in over a decade now:rolleyes:
Until next time folks; Cheers.

I'll take my fries with mayonaise! Just a bad habit. No cheese on the burger, why spoil the taste of the beef!
