So I have narrowed it down to 4 guns I am going to get 2 of them which would you get.
G21 (.45ACP)
G20 (10mm)
S&W 629 (.44mag)
Ruger Super Redhawk (.44mag)
Ammo caust is not an issure I role my own.
I have shot my S&W 629 for a lot of years and I love it. I shoot a Sierra 180gn JHP, which is very pleasant to shoot and has nailed a bunch of Jack Rabbits and Ground Squirrels. I recently bought a Kimber .45ACP and should have done it a long time ago. Good luck on your quest, decisions, decisions.

If you plan on reloading your better off with a revolver. I've had both the 29 and the Super Redhawks. The 29's have a better trigger from the factory, but the Super Redhawks way more tougher.

According to Glock, you are not supposed to shoot cast bullets in their guns. That may make a difference since you reload.

I reload so I would go g21 over tthe g20.You have more options with the 45 acp over the 10mm.Shooting cast bullets thru a factory barrel in a glock is a no no.I would go with super redhawk over the smith 629 because it is more stout and give me more options for handloading. What is your criterion,do you hunt, backpack, self defense ect..

All of the above I hunt backpack and for home defence. I carry a Kahr PM-9 pretty much all the time.

Locale and needs, everybody different. If I lived in the lower 48 for backpacking I would choose a compact 10mm ,it's more powerful than the 45acp can take care of most 2&4 legged vermin and you can shoot a deer in a pinch. For self defense 45 acp proven fight stopper for almost a century, and you don't have worry as much about over penetration as the 10mm and the44mag.629 s+w I'D use as my utility rig carry around in the truck, boat, backpacking, hunting ect..The super redhawk I'd use for hunting, you can load the 44mag to it's potential in that rig.Thats how I'd use them.hmmmmmmmmm I think I just gave you a excuse to buy all four.
