I got a used MEC 600 jr. 20 gauge loader today and when I try to resize a medium brass shell, it shaves off some of the brass and leaves filing around. I reload with a sizemaster on my 12 gauges so I have never seen this. Is this common??
I cannot find any information on this.
Thanks

Not sure of the problem, but it does not sound right. MEC has a website at www.mayvl.com. I would contact them an see if they can be of assistance. All the best...

I checked the shells before resizing with the shell guage from MEC and the shells were too large. I got them from a friend and all were shot from one gun. Once I resize they are in spec.
Also does anyone know on federal plastic wadbase would reload the same as their paper ones. I cannot find a recipe for some shell that I have. 20 ga. with the silver brass (Aluminum?) Also if safe to reload or not? These are ones from Walmart, 100 for $15.

It is not uncommon to find cases fired from some guns to be oversized. I used to pickup hulls from dove fields and found it essential to resize everything.
My rule of thumb is to not bother with cheap hulls, such as the promotional loads or bulk packs. The biggest problem I have is thin case walls that crush. Also, heads today are mostly steel and if wet, rust. This has caused sticking cases for me, in chambers.
