Hello Shooters, specifically the Alaskan crowd, but if you can help please do.

I'm down in Sitka, AK and I'm trying to get a gun safe. Does anyone know of a retailer that is Alaska friendly and will use barges to ship a safe.

I found one retailer that said they might ship to AK but when I gave them my address and even the address to the barge service in Seattle they still refused to ship. The reply I got was "can't do".

What I'm looking for is something that can hold about 18 guns and is (preferred) fireproof. I was looking at the Sentry GS9211 which comes in at about 400lbs.

Thanks guys/gals I've gotten the answers I was looking for before hopefully someone can help me again.
Adam

Sorry if this is a dup, I was getting errors trying to post.

Have you tried the 'Sportsmanswarehouse' in Anchorage?

Being out in that remote an area, I'm surprised you even need a safe!

Do wolves, polar bears, caribou and moose steal guns, now ?

:p

I haven't tried the Sportsmanswarehouse yet, I give them a call.

As far as the four legged creatures, I'm not worried if they steal them. Matter of fact if they do, more power to them! Its the two legged creatures that I'm concerned about.

Thanks again

You could always try "Security through Obscurity".

Not the best lock in the world, but it locks and is almost fireproof.

Besides, unless your goblins are into stealing freezerpops, nothing screams "work really hard trying to open me" like a recognisable gun safe.

Get a cheap recognizable one and put some POS broken-down pawn-shop wonders into it. Keep the good stuff in the Faux Freezer.

Thats is awesome. Plain and simple. Looks like no matter what the fridge is used for its got a box of Arm & Hammer in it.

I saw one many years ago that was made from a water heater. The back was cut out and it was shoved in the corner. The pipes were cut to end against the wall. It looked just like a water heater.

Let's just hope the vagrants don't get hungry or thirsty...Or want to steal a cold beer. :D
