I'm using 60gr Win 748 under a 225gr Barnes TSX. We only have a 50 yard range at my dads but the results we good got 2600fps and here is the target.

It's always gratifying to get a decent group. Please post the case brand and primer used, too, to provide full load information. Something worked up in a capacious Winchester case can be too hot for some other brands.
Note that with 748 and other ball powders, ignition is more difficult than with stick powders. If you deburr your flashholes on the insides of the cases to improve ignition consistency, your groups may tighten still further. It worked for me with 2520 in the .308.

I'm using factory R-P cases (neck sized), fed 215M primers COL is 2.912. I must disclaim my load. This load was worked up WITH OUT any published load data. I worked up to what I felt was a good, safe load. I glass bedded and free floated the barrel, the trigger has been lightened to about 2lbs or so. This group was shot of a sand bag rest across the hood of a truck, not the most stable platform. I know the rifle will shoot better that this, as I have done this before, but still I'm pleased, tome to go load up and bet ready for deer season!!!

I use 61.3 grains BLC(2) for this bullet. Gives about 2650 fps and cloverleafs 2 of 3 shots at 100 yards. Out of the box Rem 673 with a little trigger work.

I may have to give that load a try next year, thanks

I'm still playing with it. Loaded up some this afternoon to try a few 200 yard + shots next week at the range.
Will let you know.

Black tail,
May have missed it, and if so, I apologize, but what rifle are you using? Is it the Rem 673, or something else? I do have the 673 so am interested in your loading.
How do you like the 748? I use 760 in my 17 Rem, and it's a great powder for that (flows easily into that small mouth), but seems to be quite dirty.

Black tail,
Nice looking rifle - is that a factory stock? Very nice, whatever it is.
Do you think the 673 magazine is adaptable to lengthening like you've done to the 700? And, did you do any comparisons of velocity of the "before", and after the magazine mod? Thx.

I bought it with the modified magazine,I do not know if your magazine can be modifies like mine has but a company called Wyatt http://www.wyattsoutdoor.com/mbefour.html, I believe they sell them at midway USA.
The stock is the factory stock that I had to refinish (the rifle had been stolen, returned to the owner and he then sold it to me) I refinished the stock with Hellsman spar urethane satin clear coat, while I was at it I glassbedded it too and free floated the barrelhttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d40/63deuce100/OUTDOOR%20ACTIVITIES/scan0007.jpg it looks just as good in person as is does in the picture. Here is the other group I shot that day Yes I do like 748, I use it in both the 350 and the .223, dumps real well out of my uniflow measure. I'd like to see what your 673 will do, heck I want one of those too, along with a 600 and 660 and a Ruger 77, I want anything chambered in a 350 :D Hope yours shoots real well

Thx Black tail, I'll have to pick up a pound of 748. Are you getting something like 1/8" extra powder space out of the lengthening?
I have an almost-mint Mod 600 in 350 as well, but the Burris compact scope I had on it went to the 673. I don't usually baby rifles - and I'd probably use the 600 if I was in more of a brush/timber hunting environment like N Idaho - but that 600 is so purty, and the shots here in S Idaho typically long, so I just caress it now and then. I'll probably pack the 673 when I draw a cow tag one of these years.
I was tempted to get the classic when they came out in 350; wish I would have.

Yes I get more powder space, but I ale get the bullet closer to the lands, I think that the extra capacity is worth about 2grains, I'm not sure, wish that I could pressure test to be sure. Remember Barnes does not list 748 in their manual, I worked up to what I thought was a safe pressure level, could it take a grain or two more maybe, but I'm happy with the results so far. There are several other powders like BLC(2), and 4320.... I chose 748 cause I can use it in the 223 also.
Someday I'd love to have a custom #1 in 350   This rifle has turned out to bee my favorite rife, great to pack and not to bad to shoot, 10 round off the bench and I'm done.
