Good Day Sir,
I've loaded for the 270/307 Improved for the T/C Encore and H-4895 seems to produce best accuracy while IMR-4350 and IMR-4831 provide the best velocity....

Here are two loads that work well -
CASE: 307 Winchester brass necked down to .270 and fireformed in "improved chamber"...
PRIMER: CCI-200
POWDER: H-4895 / 39.2 gr.
BULLET: Sierra 130 gr. B.T. Spitzer
VELOCITY: 2,812 fps.

CASE: 307 Winchester brass necked down to .270 and fireformed in "improved chamber"...
PRIMER: CCI-200
POWDER: H-4895 / 42.2 gr.
BULLET: Hornady 110 gr. V-MAX
VELOCITY: 3,177 fps.

The above listed loads were fired from custom T/C Encore barrels that I had made and chambered. The 307 Winchester case was used instead of 308 Winchester brass because I prefer to work with "rimmed" cartridges in break open single shots. The case capacity of these 307 based cartridges will be slightly less than the 308 because the 307 brass is much thicker...
These loads were perfectly safe in our barrels and chambering and throating dimensions. However, any load to be fired in another gun should be worked up to gradually, watching for signs of excessive pressure...
Please let us know how well your 270/308 Improved shoots and I hope you find these loads useful in your load development....
