This table cost about $25 dollars for the materials and about 12 hours in the garage. It turned out not as stable as I thought it would. I might have used heavier tubing, but it was a compromise between weight and portability. The weight of the sled and sand bags tame the wiggling enough for a steady rest if I don't move around.
The legs can fold under for transport and storage. They are held in place by Stanley door hinges, 1/2 inch all-thread, and wing nuts.
The rifle is an old (1960's) Winchester Model 70 .388 I got from my dad. It has a Bausch & Lomb 2.5-8x turret-less scope. The windage and elevation are adjusted with the scope mount.
I suspect I will be able to get the best grouping I have ever done with this set up. I hope to take it out to the gravel pit and try it out this weekend.
If performance is unsatisfactory, I may add retractible braces for the legs.
