HI to all,
I have a MOSSBERG 835,12GA, ULTI-MAG,THUMBHOLE/LAMINATED
20" OVERBORED BRL,X-FACTOR PORTED TUBE...
NOW WITH ALL THAT OUT OF THE WAY....
MY QUESTION..
IS THIS SHOTGUN ANY GOOD FOR PREDATORS??
CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST SOME LOADS ??
IT TAKES A 2/3-4, 3, 3.5" SHELLS..
OTHER THAN TO SELL IT QUICK, PLEASE HELP WITH YOUR INPUT..

The new dead coyote loads in either 3 inch or 3.5 inch will do a nice job. Turkey chokes seem to be favored. I'm in really open country and don't use mine for varmints, just for turkey.
I use an aimpoint 5000 on mine and it's good for turkeys out to 65 yards. Here's my beastie.

Those who use a shotgun for small predators say that you can use T shot (about.20 claiber) or larger up to number 4 Buck (about 24 caliber) as long as your shotgun will pattern it well and the range isn't too extreme. The range will be determined by how tight your particular shotgun will pattern at the various distances. Personally I prefer my .22 Cheetah for coyote sized varmints. My 1100 is used mainly for crows and trap while my H&K 121 serves as a combat shotgun.
