I'll second Mike's welcome to our fine shooting forum. Firearm prices can vary from one part of the country to another. Here's a couple of places to look. These auction sites can give you a pretty good idea on selling values. As far as the scope, unless it's a high dollar scope such as a Leupold to begin with discount the value to 20 bucks with a used gun. That seems harsh, but I've done lots of gun shows and thats pretty standard procedure.

Here's a place that sells new and used guns and may have one like your interested in. His prices are pretty realistic.

An H&R 45-70 is worth about $300-$350 brand new. (Canadain Funds). I have shot one on several occasions and they are really cool guns. The one my father has will readily hit a coffee can free standing at 100 yards. (Iron Sights)

These are really fun guns, and they are definately neccesary in any gun safe.

Also, in my Dad's H&R we can ealily use the hottest loas that are labelled Ruger #1 only. I don't suggest you try this right away in yours, but ours functions fine!

I got one 5 years ago at a gunshow for $100.
The guy wanted $150, but I offered him less.
The guy was in a wheel chair, but it was strictly business.

It has been a good gun for me.

I like my Ruger #1s better.

I bought my H&R Officers Model Trapdoor Rifle,sight unseen,in 1973 for 280 dollars.They were just coming out,as a Commerative,and a private dealer got me tht price.It was advertised for 300 dollars.
I'm not sure ifhat is the rifle that you are concerned with.

The NEF Handi sells for about $200-$240 new, used ones go for $125-$175 depending on condition and chambering, how much to add for the scope would depend on what model Bushnell it is.
