I got quite a few of these classic rifles from AIM Surplus a few years ago that appeared to be unissued. When I posted that fact,a few folks said they had a different experience. In any case, if you want one, get it. The market is drying up. Most dealers post disclaimers telling customers not to expect decent bores and say the wood color may not match. Let us know how it turns out with your order. All the best...

Gil, I will post my findings. I find myself buying Excellent or "New" '98's in the last 15 years. Well worth the $. I bought a Very high serial # M48a 10 years ago and spent $200.00 at the time. It was worth it. Unissued, as in arsenal new condition. It maybe the last, of 1957 production. There are no dates on these Rifles and serial #'s are mixed up. Jim

I finally picked it up. It is arsenal new (work and kids). It is the perfect match to my M48a. All matching and not a scratch, not even on the follower or ramp. I wonder why no one but Samco deals with this Quality. A Mitchell's would be 2 to 3 times the $ and you have a refurbished firearm. Jim

I don't recall seeing Samco advertise before, but Mitchells Mausers seem to always have at least a full page ad in American Rifleman. I do not know what that costs, but I am sure it adds up!

Hey Jim,
I got one locally about 6 months ago. I may have mentioned it even back then but you're right. These are really nice rifles. Everyone needs one.

Michael, I am amazed at the Quality of some of the Yugo Mausers I have found. Deep dark bluing, Dark walnut stocks, Front sight hoods, and not a mark or scratch on them.
At $139.00 you can't beat them. JP
Kansas, this is for you! They don't advertise.
