Would Varget be a good powder for a 30-30? My seirra manual shows that I can get 2150 fps with a 170 gr bullet using varget. I just dont know that much about burn rates and all that. Varget seems like a good all around powder for me cuz my book lists it for my 22-250 and the 30-30 as well.

Yep, it is excellent in the 30-30.

I bought some H380 a while back for the 22-250 and I found some data in a buddys loading manual for it in the 30-30. I used it with some speer 170 gr flat nose bullets and it worked well. But now I cant find out which manual I got the data from.

Varget is an excellent powder for the 30-30, especially with the 170gr bullets.

I bought a jug of Varget yesterday I cant wait to work up some loads and see how they shoot.

If you can't find tested data for Varget, you can use data for 4064 with perfect confidence. The two are very, VERY close.
