I was so exicted when I got my first AR15 a few weeks ago. It is awesome but I am have problems with magazines/feeding. I bought a Smith and Wesson mp15t for abut $1200.00 It will only accepted the magazine that it came with. I can't seem to figure it out. But I am new to Ars. Shoots great groups. This is a great plinking gun.

I split your post off into a new thread, since it seems to be a different specific question.
Usually magazine feeding is a matter of how the lips are formed or of spring tension and follower shape. Occasionally people forget that cartridge length limits need to be observed for reliable magazine feeding, so check the COL with a cartridge gauge or a caliper. Assuming that is OK, pick up a surplus military magazine with aluminum follower at a gun show and see if it doesn't behave better? If not, you may need to get a gunsmith to look at the rifle. Usually the least expensive approach is to return it to the factory for factory service, which is usually free. You are allowed to ship a gun directly to its factory for repair and they are allowed to return it directly to you without going through an FFL holder. One of the few special exceptions.

Wow! I am surprised at the $$$. It seems it uses a proprietary mag. I have old M16 Black and green follower mags that I use in my Bushmaster DCM. No issue with either. I hope the info I found is wrong. Jim

I received two more magazines from Smith and Wesson through a promotion they had, I guess this is to alliviate some consumer complaints. I bought some metal (not the plastic promags) mags and tried it. I could hardly remove it the first time. Looks like the magazine well is too tight. There are some topics on this at ar15.com. I can live with a tight magazine well.

Don't buy commercial steel mags. Stick with USGI 20 or 30 round mags.

That did not even dawn on me reading the post. Yes on the U.S. surplus mags. That is what I buy. No issues.
