I am still learning how to use my Chrony beta master, how do you use a chronograph to determine pressure? I am just assuming that when a certain load reaches maximum an increase in the powder charge results in a smaller and smaller velocity increase.

Well, that's a popular theory, but I don't know that it can be proven.

Example, take a powder like WW296 / H110. It's listed in a bunch of different stuff, from the .410 shotgun, to the .454 Casull. The shotgun max pressures are well under the .454; maybe 15 or 20% as high.

You can, however, keep an eye on the velocity. If velocity is matching the numbers you see in the loading manuals (assuming equal barrel lengths), then it's likely (but not assured) that your pressures are similar.

You can imply pressure, but can't really measure it directly without pressure trace equipment.

Still, the chronograph is a very useful tool.

You can't do it fastfreddy. Wrong tool for the job. Your Chrony is desiged to measure speed only!

Is abit like using your oil pressure gage to determine RPM of your cars motor.

Chronograph was not designed to measure presure.

Cheezy and Mike both summed it up. Any relationship is just a guess on your part.
