My 22-250 NEF Handi Rifle action opens by itself after I fire a round...any help out there?

I'd be giving NEF a call, this seems a little dangerous to me.

According to H&R gunsmiths, the number one cause for pop opens and inaccuracy is oil/solvent on the latch and/or latch shelf, they need to be clean and dry.

As stated in the owner's manual, be sure to close the action with enough force to insure it's securely locked, this is specially important when new, the latch and latch shelf may need some use before they mate well. Due to the lockup design, consistency in how you close the action will be result in consistent accuracy, where inconsistent lockup will result in vertical stringing and poor accuracy, and pop opens.

If you're shooting handloads, they need to be full length resized to make sure they fit flush to the chamber mouth when chambered, negative headspace will keep the action from locking up completely.
