Guys,
I need your help. Yesterday was my first day shooting my new pro hunter. I have read where you should shoot sabots in a dry barrel. I am shooting 777 150 grains with 250 Barnes X bullets. The first loading attempt failed I could not get the bullet and sabot more then 2" into the bbl. I got the bullet out and ran a wet patch through the bore and then loaded the rifle but it was very hard. After each shot I have to dry swab the bbl and then run a grease patch through the bbl to be able to load it. I am asking for any suggestions about what you think may be my problem. Thanks in advance.

You may have to try different sabots and bullet combinations until you find one that will load okay. Had the same problem with patched round balls and found I had to go to a special size round ball in order to load them with pillow ticking patches. When I used other lighter patches and regular round balls the sized everyone said was needed the rifling would cut through the patch material and it was nearly impossible to ram home the patched ball. Once I got it sorted out the smoke pole really shoots and can shoot three shots before having to patch clean the barrel. Noticed that some sabots are thicker than others and with the bullet are hard pushing down the barrel. Using Bore Butter to lubricate the sabot helped in seating but that caused other problems.
