Howdy,

My hunting partner and I have tags for Colorado (near Steamboat) November 3-9. I also have a Utah (near Salt Lake) "extended" archery tag. The Utah season runs through mid December.

While I generally hunt elk in the rut, I've never really pursued the mulies when they're goin'. I would appreciate any advice / info on what to expect as far as timing of the rut and behaviors to expect.

Thanks!

While I have killed a few, I never specifically tried for mulies in the rut. I have hunted mountain lions quite a bit around Grand Junction right after the late season for deer[Nov. season] and found the rut to be in full swing; So it sounds to me like your hunting the right season.

No , the spot and stalk only works for me when you can tell what the animal is doing and which way its heading. Then if you have time to get in position sometimes a shot will be there. Patience as always is the name of the game in this bow hunting. Good luck.
