I will be experimenting with Rosster Jacket liquid lube applied the the LEE 122g TC bullet for 9mm. I would like to hear and opinions and experiences any other members have with this lube. I will not be appling any other lube to the bullet made from WW. How is the smoke production as compared to standard hard stick lubes? I will be pushing this bullet at least 1100 fps.

thanks

I haven't tried myself, but some of the old boys on the cast bullet forums swear by it. Check out what Ed Harris (yes, The Ed Harris) says.

Jack,

Good link. I remember I got annoyed when I first discovered Lyman's change from the old straight gas checks because I'd acquired a few half pound spools of extremely thin (.030" or so) 37:63 alloy rosin core solder. I was going to experiment with simultaneously heat treating bullets and soldering the gas checks onto them in an oven. Thought of it too late to do me any good.

You used to be able to buy dies for making your own straight gas checks from aluminum cans. I wonder whatever happened to those? Copper foil could probably be substituted in. Does Corbin make gascheck dies? I haven't looked at their site for awhile.
