Hi everyone,
I new to this forum and I'm looking for suggestions for rifles configured for left-handed shooters in a caliber with easy to find ammo. If it is available in gas - semi-auto that is even better.
Any suggestions other than Browning BAR?
Thanks.

Using the KISS principal (Keep It Simple Silly). Any of the Marlin Lever actions. The Marlin 336C in 30-30 certainly meets the criteria of cheap readily available ammunition.
beyond that, any non bolt action in 308 Win, 30-06 or 270 Win will also likely meet your criteria.
You'll only have to change the safety.
For an economical left handed bolt action do not overlook the Savage rifles. Historically excellent accuracy out of the box.

Thanks eagleeye. I should have stated in my original post that I have a Savage Model 99 in .300 Savage that was passed on to me from my dad. I guess i should clean it up, take it to the range and fire it for a while to see what I like and don't like about it. It's been a while since I've fired it.
IIRC, even though it is lever action, it still ejects casings to the right and across my field of view.

Winchester, Remington, Savage and others configure bolt rifles for leftys. I have the lefty curse also, and have Savages, Winnies and Remmies in common calibers, such as .223, 308, and 30-06.
Being lefty, I have found that all levers will work also, but the older Winnie top ejects will throw the empty brass onto the brim on your hat, where if it was shot right handed, it would miss you completely. Marlin levers throw off to the side, and cycled at the cheek, you never see the rounds pass in front of you.
My Garand and M14 work well also, but the M14 ejection hits the earmuff I wear, so you hear a "tick, tick, as the empties sail past the muff.
Being lefty you can shoot right handed guns, [which are 95% of today's guns] just takes practice.
