I have a Rem 700 ADL in .270 and a Browning A Bolt Composite Stalker II in .30-06. I want to rebarrel one of the rifles to a .336-06 or a .375-06. What do i hav eto do to go about accomplishing this. Can I have one of the barrels reamed out or do i need a new barrel? Would i be better off with changing one rifle over the other? Just lloking for advice on how to make the change for the least $$$ and get the best results.

HEre's a SHilen barrel in 338-06 for the Rem 700. Spendy.
You can find other barrels at Midway, Brownells, etc.

A new barrel is usually easiest, but you can have re-boring and re-rifling done, too. I'll leave it to someone else to recommend a shop that makes a good job of that, as I haven't ever had occasion to have it done?
There is no technical reason for choosing one action over the other for the change. However, you will find more gunsmiths available who already have tools (action wrench, specifically) for the Remington. You will definitely find more who have tools for blueprinting a Remington action, if you want that extra accuracy step taken?

I thought that was a good price for a Shilen barrel. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=147498&t=11082005

True...I meant it might be more spendy than he would want to invest in a conversion. The Adams and Bennett barrels are a lot cheaper, for instance. DOn't know if they make them to fit Remingtons.
I'd go with a new bbl blank, if I were you. Consider the improved version for them also - especially for the 375-06(375 Whelen) because of its minimum shoulder. Here's a picture of these '06 derivatives(at the bottom).

Here's a fella that does a good job at a reasonable price. I always used to recommend a new barrel as there weren't many folks doing the bore out thing at a reasonable price, but this guy does and does good work.
