I am looking to speed up my bullet lubrication process, but NOT wanting to get away from the bullet sizing. I have been using ALOX 2138F (JAVENINA-Beeswax) for a number of years with pretty good results.
I would like to change to a pan melt, using SPG bullet lube for my .45-70 Gov't bullets with a LEE "push-through", then go to the gas check and sizing process that I have been using.
WOULD "SPG" BE OK FOR THE BULLET LUBRICANT???

I use Lee's push thru sizing and Lee's liquid alox and have for better than 15 years with great results.

I'm far from an expert at this, Stalker, but a couple of things come to mind.
SPG is designed specifically for shooting cast bullets over black powder (the original, not the substitutes like Tripple-7). It helps keep the fouling soft. There is no reason I know of to be using SPG over smokeless powder. If you are using black powder in your .45-70 (as God intended), I would expect it to work much better than Alox.
On the sizing question, I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. The LEE push through is a sizing tool and will seat your gas checks. Going from there to your previous sizing process would be deja-vu all over again.

Sorry about the mixup. I was under the impression that by "hand sizing", it implied cutting just over the diameter of the bullet. Otherwise, how would a man be able to exert enough pressure to force the bullet through the sizing tool? By cutting the "cake" of lube over the outside of the bullet, I would then run it through my bench-mounted sizing die (my SAECO press), to size the bullet to 0.460" dia.
