A neighbor came over with a SS shotgun, "You got any need for this?" When I said maybe he thrust it forward and said "You can have it."
IT is a Winchester Model 37 12ga probably made in the early 1960's. Its barrel markings, jugged choke, rough interior finish and stamped parts put it at the end of production, which ended in 1963. It's in great condition and my reference books put it in the $200 value range. (I think that is rediculously high but Winchester's are priced for the name around here.)
I have a pre-war 20ga Model 37 and the quality is vastly different. (Note, the above gun IS NOT a Model 37A which came out later in the 60's.)
