Hey guys. I'm FINALLY building my custom Martini a .218 Mashburn Bee. UNFORTUNATELY the only dies I can get for it a $570 for a 3 die set. Which is twice what the rifle is costing me to build! Any body that knows anybody that has a set that they are willing to part with PLEASE let me know. I'll pay up to $150 for them. Thanks guys

Boy I feel for you Kamate. Do you have any friends in the states that could pick up up a set? Is there any problems from someone sending you a set from the US? Any laws against sending a set of reloading dies to Australia from here?
Kamate,
Mate and I just imported a set of CH/4D dies in 458AR. There's no paper work so just ring them and give your credit card details, they'll arive in about 5 days. There will be an approx 8% price rise after Christmas this year. Buy whilst the Aussie dollar is running hot!!! Another trick that may get you shooting is to use possibly a Lee 223 collet die and just partially neck size ... I'm not 100% up on the 218Bee's case dimensions, but the above gets me up and shooting a Cadet in 222Rimmed AI with 40deg shoulder. No need to FLS as you wont run high pressures in the Martini Cadet because your extraction will be zilch.
Cheers...

Glad to help, mate. I'd have things to say about a 7X markup.
I've got a set of CH/4D in .222 Remington and a friend has a set in .270 Winchester. They're good dies. Long story about mine. I started with RCBS dies and years later I was reading about case runout and realized I had all the necessary pieces to make my own gauge. The .222 loads were bad for runout. A bit of checking showed that the sizer die was the problem, which any old benchrester could have told me. It seems that RCBS drills the neck of the die, then reams the cartridge body part separately, which means they can be out of line.
So I tried a set of Hornady New Dimension dies. The necks were straight, but the sizer overdid the base of the cases. Some old Imperial (Canadian) cases looked like they had a belt! Not that I have anything against Messrs. Holland & Holland, but....
I picked up a set of old stock CH/4D dies at a gunshow. The sizer did a perfect job, but I couldn't seat a bullet! I phoned CH/4D and the lady said "Send it in". It came back with two good seater screws, one for pointed bullets and one for round nose.
Bye
Jack
