I just started my first casting and after getting everything ready and casting about a dozen bullets my lead turned hard and grainy. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

You could start by giving us some more details on your casting equipment and procedure. Was the lead that turned hard and grainy in your casting pot or was it how the bullets turned out? My first impression is not enough heat in the casting pot resulting in the alloy cooling down.

did you flux your alloy? like M K said we need more info......

Thanks everyone but I jumped the gun, It appears the element on my shiney new casting pot burned out. Again thans fro the responses.
