I have a Winchester 101 made in the 70s that is 12 gauge chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells.I am thinking of getting it rechambered for 3 inch shells which is what I pheasant and duck hunt with. Is there any problem doing this with this gun or will the barrels not hold up?

Have you checked the price of these shotguns lately? You might want to reconsider and simply purchase another shotgun.

I'd contact Briley's in Houston if you are set on doing this. Then again.... 101s aren't cheap and you are probably better off not doing such a thing, even if it's feasible (my opinion also).
