any one ever deer hunted in wva?. i have made two hunting trips to wva in the last several years. i could not believe the number of deer they have down there i seen over 30 deer the first day of deer season. where i hunt in ny we don,t have near as many deer when i was a kid living in wva hunting rabbits and small game we covered a lot of territory and you could,t find a track where i lived, now there are deer all over the place. they even make food plots out 2miles in the woods to help feed the deer in the winter. talking to a department of natural resources officer '' while he was checking my hunting permit'' deer was even stocked in some areas from wisconson i don,t mind paying the price for an out of state permits when i can see where the money is going. they are really strict on there hunting laws to' i got checked three times in one week, went through two road blocks with dogs looking for illegal deer meat.but the result is better hunting for everyone. give it a try if you get the chance .

I have hunted WVA, as I own some pieces of property there. I agree with you about paying the money for out-of-state tags, because even if I only have a 3-4 day window of opportunity to make the trip, I am still pretty much confident that I can fill a tag in such a short time. The deer population is outrageous there, and doesn't ever seem to dwindle down. Some of the hunts can be rough terrain, with some steep mountains, but all-in-all I think WVA is a great (little known) hunting state!
