I was fortunate to fill one of my tags with my 94 this morning. This is the first deer that I have taken with this rifle. The gun was given to me by my father-in-law and I've had it for a couple of years now. I haven't had a chance at a shooter buck with it yet, but finally this year I had a doe tag for rifle season so I felt like I was going to have a pretty good chance to put something on the ground. This is easily my favorite rifle to shoot and I have really been looking forward to having a successful hunt with it.
I passed up a 45 yard shot last night after a two hour belly crawl because of some small saplings that were partially covering the vitals when the doe got up. I went back to the same spot this morning and was rewarded with a 15 yard shot as a pair of doe fed along on the ridge just below me. She ran about twenty yards and stopped to look around, then her legs went out from under her.
The rifle is a WWII era carbine in .32 Win. SPL.
