Does anyone know if the lube heater for a Lyman 450 will work on a Lyman 45 - I want to put one on my sizer but can't find a model that states it is specifically for this old press - thanks jb

Hole spacing on a 450 is 2" apart, 2" back from the front. That is, 2" from the holes to the point where the die chamber overhangs the bench. According to Lyman's site, you can drill the heater for a 45. Click on the FAQ for the heater. (Should have looked there first.)

Alternate solution. If you've got a clothing iron, find an aluminum plate about the width of the iron. Drill one end for the sizer and put the iron on the other end. Mine is 5 x 12", 3/16" thick, although 1/4" or 3/8" is usually recommended. I set my iron at half heat for 10-15 minutes for a quick warm-up, then just barely on for production.
