Those of us that like single shots and especially the old Rollingblocks would like this.
I would like Lonestar perhaps or a quality minded company to make a midsized frame rollingblock like the old .32 rimfire in a caliber such as the .357 Max. I just can't swing two grand for a big rollingblock repro but perhaps a smaller framed/ .357 Max might get me off some cash. I still could hunt a deer with it at woods range and play with lead rounds at some distant groundhog in the open field...just a dream

Back in 1981 I found a book on singleshot rifle designs( Frank DeHas?) that had scaled drawings for gun builders. It was fairly easy to build one back then. I used a metal-cutting bandsaw to cut out my parts. If you can locate This Book you'll be quite surprised at the myriad of actions that are easilly buildable at home!

I guess you have looked at the offerings from Pedersoli and Uberti?

Wonder how much trouble it would be to convert one of the .32 rimfires to 32-20? I also see milsurp ones in 7mm from time to time that don't seem too expensive. Also some .43 caliber cartridge I'm not familiar with.

I could not find one of the new rolling blocks in .357. I bought a 21" .357 Max barrel for my TC many years ago and enjoy it very much. I would like to send it out and have the throat angle changed per Ed harris thinking but that is the only change I would make.

Take look here...asap, as auction is ending soon: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=87415135

I just typed in : uberti rolling block in a Google search and this came up.
At one time Uberti made/offered their Baby rolling Block in .357, not sure if they still do? If not, keep searching various auction sites, etc. Hope this helps.

Yup, I missed another one. Beautiful rifle and that idea on rechambering it to a BP .357 Max really intrigues me. Now if they will be making these in the future?

That item is still listed on Gunbroker, hasn't sold yet, perhaps I'm not the only one who thinks six hundred bucks is a bit much. I had one of the Uberti baby rolling blocks in .22 Hornet. It had grossly excessive headspace, cases separated sometimes on the first firing and accuracy was very poor. I got it rechambered to 218 Bee with very tight headspace and it was a tack driver. A sweet little rifle to carry marmot hunting above timberline, 5 1/2 pounds with scope. Sigh, another one I should have kept.
I'm not sure I'd care to have one chambered to .357 Maximum, some of the recommended loads are off the chart in pressure. I'm building up an H&R handi rifle in .357 Mag and will rechamber it to .357 Max but will still work up loads very cautiously.
