I am setting up for an experiment.
I have not loaded BP in cartriges for over 20 years. I no longer know what brands of powder is out there.

What I need to know, is what is the cleanest burning BP to use in rifles. Usually in calibers like 44WCF and that type.
For rifles would FF be best, or FFF?
Handguns which would be best?

I do not want to use Pyrodex or any other substitute powder.

Thanks, J

Hi, J:
Seems that the flinter crowd figures Swiss is much cleaner and hotter than Goex or Elephant. It costs a lot more too. If you can't find any locally try the Maine Powder House. http://www.mainepowderhouse.com/
I haven't even seen it up here.

Bye
Jack

Thanks Jack,
I think one pound will do for the project I have in mind. So I'm not woried too much about the cost.
