I finally bought me a T/C Encore and a barrel in 338-06. I am familiar with the cartridge but not so much with the Encore. Anybody out there have good, bad or otherwise comments on the Encore? Thanks, Bob.

The Encore platform is awesome. I have two and they are shooters, my 223Rem is a 1 holer at 100 yards and the 25-06 is better than 1/2" at 100 yards. I have not shot the 209x50 and have not yet tamed the 460 S&W. The more you shoot it the more you'll fall in love.

I have been hunting with contenders and Encore break opens for years. All but one in handgun legth barrels though. Bellms T/C.com or Jim Hendershot in Grants pass Oregon can make that an awesome trigger pull yet safe. Love my .338X06 with it following my 35 Newton as my favorites. Many, many options out there. I like Varget and the 180gr Nosler accubond as my general service load.
