When did winchester switch the chamberings over from .30 wcf to what we now know as 30-30's? Its one lever gun that I still have yet to add to my collection. I don't want a pre-ww2 94 30-30, I want a 30wcf. I have a chance of getting my grand dad's, but I have several siblings that have a chance too. And I know that the longer I wait the more its going to cost me.

They are one in the same cartridge. I think Marlin did not like the idea of putting Winchesters name on thier barrels?

Yup Cheezywan nailed it. It's not a different chambering, just a different name for the same cartridge, sorry coyote.

ok, let me explain myself better. At some point winchester also started calling theirs a 30-30. I'm wondering when they changed the stamps so to speak. I know you can use 30-30's in the 30wcf's but I want one stamped 30 wcf. What can I say im picky

.
Buy a pre-WWll vintage. The change was madel after the war about 1949 or 50 with serial numbers around 1,550,000. By 1951 all had 30-30 stamp.
