I have a 444 H&R ,and would like a recoil pad for it (not for myself, but for my olady mostly).
Im looking at the Limbsaver or pachmayr pads. The stock on the gun is synthetic,is there any prefit pad models that will screw right up to it or will I HAVE to go with the ugly slip on or pain in the *** grind to fit ?

The #10003 and #10601 fit some wood stocks, but the synthetic stocks are another matter, you'd have to go to the Limbsaver website and print their templates to scale and see it they have one that would work. Some members at the GBO NEF/H&R Centerfire forum have epoxied wood mounts inside the synthetic stock to anchor prefit pads.

I just had an idea, I have a Tikka T3 Lite 338Winmag with the Limbsaver #10011 pad on it, just for S&G, I removed it and checked the fit on a synthetic stock, it's not perfect, but it's good enough to use, it's just a tad wider and taller than the stock, but I think it could be sanded down enough to match perfect or just used as is, it isn't off that much. The top hole in the pad mounting plate would need to be moved just a little up, and a new mounting fixture epoxied in for the bottom mount, unless the hole could be relocated slightly towards the bottom. I'd use it myself if I like the synthetic stocks and am gonna post it in the FAQs at GBO, others will want to use it for sure!! :D
Thanks for the inspiration, many will appreciate it!!

I did a little more digging on the Limbsaver site, they have another pad that I think will fit the synthetic stock even better, the #10018 appears to have the same hole pattern too, it's not quite as wide as the #10011, but still a tad wider than the stock, 1.5162" compared to the stock at 1.475", the #10011 is 1.555" wide.

A little more research and I learn that the #10018 is made for the synthetic Handi, it's not on their prefit list, but it's on their cross reference chart!

WrongTarget, is that a raised comb stockon your tikka? Who makesit and where did you get it? Most of the time the raised comb also means a greater drop at the heal which I like. otherwise I'll need an adjustable recoil pad. Rather have a stock that fits me well.

That's not a Tikka stock, it's an H&R monte carlo, the recoil pad is a Limbsaver #10011 off my Tikka T3 Lite, but Limbsaver makes one for the H&R now, #10018, but good luck finding one!
