I'm looking for a mold for a white rifle. what i was told as a recomendation is to cast at .505 and size down to about .5035 or find a mold that casts at .504. Although I'm not too picky about what size, anything from 450gr to 600gr would be fine with me, but again, going back to the recomendations a 460gr is what the White's like best. thanks for any replies and direction of where to look!

I would call White about it ((801) 785-6655 ). I assume you have one of their .504" muzzle loaders? They list their bullets for it as .503", so that is where I would start. However, you also want to know how hard their alloy is so you can duplicate it. Too hard and muzzle loading can become a misery pretty quickly.
I notice they have a multitude of small lube grooves in their bullets. That likely makes it easier to get them into the rifling. Finding that exact design elsewhere may be difficult since they claim to design their own. You could, however, buy some of theirs, test them for hardness as well as cleaning out the lube grooves and getting the bullet dimensions. Then a custom mold maker can duplicate it, if that is what you want to do? For existing molds, look at page 13 of NEI's catalog on line (http://www.neihandtools.com/catalog.html). They have three .505 size molds. The 485 grain looks not too far from what you want. The have a 425 grain that might work and a 540 grain round nose with a conventional single lube groove. I don't know if that would fly for you or not?

Have you checked out www.mountainmolds.com and played with thier online design program?
You might want to look at the whitworth design since it has the deepest lube grooves which will aid the bullet filling the bore upon firing all though I had a mold made with the tangential ogive design (360 gn)for a 40 cal barrel I installed on my TC Renegade and seems to work fine, these long bullets are very forgiving.
