I just purchased a Rem. 700 CDL in 7mm-08. I have a Nikon 3x9x50mm on another rifle that I am wanting to switch out and install it on the 7mm-08.

My question is, will the 50mm lens fit on the rifle with low scope mounts?

I don't like for my scopes to sit high on the gun.

Probably not. Only way to find out is try it out, but I'd almost bet that your going to need medium rings with a 50 mm objective scope. If you buy the rings locally usually a gun shop will mount the scope for you. Just ask.
