Hi all...new to this board. Just bought myself a puma in 44 mag. Want to put a lyman #2 tang sight on it. Read on this forum the screws are metric so the supplied lyman screws won't work. Are the original screws long enough? Anyone mounted one with existing hardware or do I need to look for long metric screws?
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Juan. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.
If the original screws are to short you might be able to get the screws you need from Brownell's gunsmith supply.

I threaded a nail, slotted the head, cut it to length, heat treated it and statred shooting. The head did need a little touching up to properly fit thecounter sink in the sight base. I do not recall the size or the pitch of the threads. I do recall that I used a concrete forming nail (double headed). I filed flats on the top head to hold it steady and then cut the top head off. Heat to a cherry red and quinch in used motor oil to come close to matching the colorof a blued reciever.
