View Full Version : Redfield Scope repair
I have a Redfield 6X18 scope that has a damaged crosshair and showes some wear. On checking around to have it repaired I am thinking it is not worth the cost and am thinking of buying a Leopold, prehaps of higher magnification, to replace it. The rifle is a 1980's vintage Ruger #1 in cal .22-250.
Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with buying a new scope especially if the one you own doesn't do what you want. The Denver made Redfields are great scopes in my opinion. If you choose to get it repaired the address of a company that does it is:
Iron Sight Corp.
3324 S. 76th W. Ave.
Tulsa OK 74107
918-445-2296
They took several weeks to repair the last one I sent in and the cost was about $50 if I remember correctly. By the way, they only work on the American made Redfields.
Go to SST's Rifle Room @ http://angelfire.com/mo2/rifleroom and click on Optics. You'll see a link for Redfield repair. I believe it's ABO.

If it's a newer Redfield Meade optics, the new owner of Redfield may repair or exchange it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Since they bought out Weaver, Simmons and the Redfield name folks have been having some problems with their warrentee department. It took me better than six months and a pile of heartburn to get an under warrentee Weaver Classic repaired/replaced.
